Summary

The research aims to explore the connections between architecture,
anthropology, and the visual arts. The work seeks to show how African
knowledge informed architectural knowledge and practices in late colonial
Mozambique (between the 1950s and 1970s). At the same time, it aims to
analyse the contemporary effects of these connections and their impact on southern Mozambique, more specifically in Matalana, in the district of
Marracuene.
